In Match 25 of the TATA IPL 2025, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) delivered a commanding performance to defeat the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Sunil Narine emerged as the standout performer, showcasing his prowess with both bat and ball.
CSK, led by the returning MS Dhoni after Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury, struggled from the outset. Their innings was marred by early wickets, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra departing cheaply. Despite a brief resistance from Vijay Shankar and Rahul Tripathi, the middle order collapsed under pressure. Narine’s exceptional bowling figures of 3/13 dismantled the CSK lineup, including the crucial wicket of Dhoni. Only Shivam Dube showed some resilience, scoring an unbeaten 31, as CSK managed a modest total of 103/9 in their 20 overs.

In response, KKR’s chase was swift and decisive. Openers Quinton de Kock and Narine set the tone with an aggressive start, amassing 46 runs in the first four overs. Although de Kock was dismissed for 23, Narine continued his onslaught, scoring a rapid 44 off 18 balls. His innings included consecutive sixes off Ravichandran Ashwin, effectively sealing the game. Ajinkya Rahane and Rinku Singh ensured there were no further hiccups, guiding KKR to victory in just 10.1 overs.
This comprehensive win highlights KKR’s formidable form and underscores Narine’s invaluable contribution as a premier all-rounder in the tournament.
