Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has finally addressed his omission from the squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy, choosing to focus on his game rather than engaging in controversies.
The decision to leave Siraj out of the squad raised eyebrows, especially given his stellar performances in recent months. However, the 30-year-old fast bowler remains unfazed, maintaining that his job is to perform on the field and let the selectors do their part.
“I only have a cricket ball in my hands, not a pen to decide selections,” Siraj said in a calm yet resolute response to questions about his omission.
The right-arm pacer has been one of India’s most consistent bowlers, playing a crucial role in Test and ODI victories. His ability to swing the ball both ways and deliver match-winning spells made many believe he was a shoo-in for the Champions Trophy squad. However, the selectors opted for a different combination, leaving Siraj out of the final list.
Despite this, Siraj remains focused on his craft. “My goal is simple—to give my best whenever I play. Selection is not in my hands, but performance is,” he added.
With major tournaments and series ahead, the fast bowler is determined to keep working hard. Cricket fans and analysts believe that Siraj’s dedication and skill will soon earn him another opportunity on the big stage.
For now, he remains a team player, putting India’s success above personal milestones. “I have always played for my country with pride, and that will never change,” Siraj concluded.
